Group Fitness Classes

The group class service is designed for anyone looking at changing up their current fitness routine, a beginner looking at starting their fitness journey or an experienced trainee looking to enjoy fitness with their peers.

 

Our group classes will be broken down into TWO different programs. The first program is called Southwest Active.

This program aims at the following:

  1. Structural balance/strength
  2. Movement efficiency & quality
  3. Body composition & weight loss
  4. Quality/Function of every day life
  5. Mobility
  6. Increased work capacity
  7. Increased overall fitness

Example of Training Session – Southwest Active:

Day 1: UpperBody/Lower Focus -beginner
A1. Barbell Split Squats @30×0, 5-7/leg x 4 sets-30sec 
A2. Deadlift @11×1, 4-6 reps x 4 sets-1min
B1. Inverted Rows @20×1, 4-6 reps x 4 sets-1min
B2. Weighted Front Bridge 30-60sec x 4 sets-1min
C1. Strict Press @20×1, 5-7 reps x 4 sets-1min
C2. Negative Pullups ASAP, 2 reps x 4 sets-1min
D1. Russian KBS 10 reps x 3 sets-30sec
D2. Airsquat, 10 reps x 3 sets 30sec

The second group class is called Southwest Barbell. This program includes and aims at the following:

  1. Advanced barbell movements (olympic lifting – snatch and clean and jerk)
  2. Strength, Power and Speed
  3. Gymnastic movements
  4. Barbell conditioning
  5. Performance

Example of Training Session – Southwest Barbell:

Tuesday Split Jerk Int + Power Clean + Power Snatch + CP Battery Tester
A. Jerk Dip. Paused Split Jerk. Split Jerk 1.1.1, every 75sec x 10 sets-start @155lbs, add 5lbs per set
B. Power Clean, work to max a tng triple
C. Power Snatch, work to a single
D. 5,4,3,2,1 for time
Weighted Pronated Chin up @35lbs
Shoulder to Overhead 165lbs

*Important to note, members are welcome to attend both programs (Southwest Active & Southwest Barbell) regularly.
