Throwback Thursday
I have had some recent conversations with clients about enjoying the journey, focusing on progress and always striving to becoming a better version of yourself. It’s really easy to get caught up in other people’s ability and progress, and forget the WHY behind your training. These conversations lead me to just reflect on my own Journey. I have been at this for awhile a now. The first video is from 2012,2013 and 2014 & the second video is from the past few weeks of training and a competition that I was recently competing in.
This post is not meant to brag about “how good I am”, rather it is meant to show just how proud I am of my progress the past 5 years. I have never been an elite athlete, or truly good at one thing, but the last 5 years of my life, I have dedicated ALL MY TIME to becoming better. That is something no one can take away from me. It has NEVER BEEN EASY, everyday brings a new challenge. If your one of my close friends, family or as of the past few years a client, you know I don’t miss a training session, I go to bed early, follow set macros and always give my best effort when I am in the gym. The progress that I have made the past 5 years is from consistent hard work and dedication to myself. At the end of the day, that is what truly matters, knowing that I did everything I could TODAY to be better.
Everyone’s journey will be different, but one thing should be constant. The longer I train, its never about the PR’s or personal best times, its about the effort I provide daily. We should always be proud of our EFFORT. Give your best, be honest with yourself and be proud.
I turned 30 this past month, and with the help of my beautiful wife, family, my clients, and my coach, I will continue to give my best effort in becoming fitter, stronger and a better version of myself.
